Gustavo Gili publicó en estas fechas un libro donde aparece una selección de marcas que he realizado en mi estudio. Marcas & Trademarks MEX muestra un compendio de 920 logotipos producidos en México desde el año 2000 hasta la actualidad por 138 estudios y diseñadores.

Footprints My big feet

My foot measures a foot, as in twelve inches.
Actually both of them do. Pretty big and very useful for measuring out an impromptu swimming pool.
My footprints can vary in size though. Sometimes they’re tiny when my big feet are happy to look for locally grown fruit and veg. My big feet will also politely refuse carrier bags and my big feet don’t mind going on a trip to the recycling bins down the road.
But then you got the odd day when my footprints are a bit massive. If my big feet want mango, my big feet will have mango god dammit. If it’s a long walk home for my big feet, a couple of carrier bags won’t hurt and if it’s too cold and wet for my big feet to go outside I’ll just chuck the paper in the normal bin this time.
Having spoken at length to my feet about this they both agreed they like being big but they love having small footprints.

Tiré mucho y aseguré en la maleta mi libro en octavo: un ejemplar veneciano de 1546 titulado De principiis rerum, por el jurista y humanista italiano Scipione Capece (1480-1551). Mi ejemplar tiene su origen en la Imprenta Aldina, durante el magnífico ciclo de Paulus. Sus páginas entregan las letras que Francesco Griffo de Bologna talló en 1501 para la casa de Aldus Manutius en la edición de Virgilio: las primeras itálicas impresas.¶ Aldus falleció en 1515, dejando huérfano a Paulus Manutius, quien fue acogido por su abuelo materno. Dieciocho años después, el jóven Paulus tomaría posesión del negocio familiar.¶ La afabilidad del tiempo y espléndida factura de mi tomo, no sólo seducieron mi apego a la impresión en relieve y tipografica, me reveló modos de ejecutar mi oficio en forma apresurada y pausada.¶ En la portadilla y colofón aparecen el célebre motivo del ágil delfín y la agobiada ancla, la esperanza que el primer Aldus encontró en el oxímoron característico del símbolo: festina lente -deprisa despacio-.
Una tarde nubosa de 1990, retraté a Gabriela en La Aurora, Coahuila. La cámara y la mujer marcharon llevándose entre mucho, mis futuras intenciones de volcar el sentido en la fotografía.¶ Veinte años después, con la mirada y juicio adiestrados, sin urgencia ojeo fascinado a Gabriela nuevamente.¶ Ahora dibujo y espero pertinente iniciarle mi apunte.
